Sporadic Bliss started off as a musical partnership between two life-long friends, myself, Greg Grobmeier and Brandon Bruce. It was the vision of Sporadic Bliss to create modern rock music that showcased what we felt were the primary elements that had always inspired us musically: the Human Voice and the Electric Guitar. Our goal above all else was to create powerful and emotional music using these elements. Through a working combination of Brandon's folk and pop songwriting sensibility and my rock and blues rooted guitar influences, we put these elements in motion in songs like Believe.
Brandon and I have known each other since early childhood and after a few years of going to different high schools, I ran into Brandon in my first year of college studying music. He noticed my guitar and we quickly learned that we had both developed a creative drive for making music. Even at 19, I saw in Brandon a talented songwriter and singer. We jammed the typical acoustic/coffee house type gigs for a while before I moved away to finish college. A few years and a couple of bands later we teamed up again with a renewed vision. What set us apart from most other bands was our shared understanding of life and music. Brandon and I have been best friends through the good times and the bad times (and there have been a lot of bad times), and that's what Sporadic Bliss is all about: finding some good, those brief interuptions of "bliss", in a generally unforgiving world. For us that "bliss" is music, taking the ugliness of life and creating something beautiful.
Brandon now lives in Ohio with his wife Misha and their newborn duaghter Lainey and he is loving life!
As for me, I'm still in Phx plugging away trying to conjure up those sporadic moments of creative bliss...
